Smart relay for campers and other vehicles

The NDS Smart-Link SL12-100 (12 V/100 A) is a smart relay that automatically switches to the correct power source for your vehicle while driving or when stationary. If you want to use certain equipment in your camper while driving, the Smart-Link SL12-100 ensures that heavy equipment gets power from the engine battery while driving, thereby sparing the service battery. When stationary, the relay automatically regulates that power comes from the service battery or 230 V input. The SL12-100 relay can also be installed on any existing camper system.

Of course, you should take into account that the capacity of your batteries and alternator is sufficient.

If you want to use an air conditioner with (for example) a usage of 1kw, along with the already present equipment while driving, we recommend using an alternator of 150A or more.

If you want to use a 230V device in places where you are stationary and there is no 230V input, you should take into account that the battery capacity of the household/service batteries is sufficient for the usage duration of the device to be used.

Use in combination with inverter

In addition to the Smart-Link, your camper should also be equipped with an inverter that is strong enough for the equipment you want to use. Usually a pure sine inverter is the best option (for example for air conditioning, coffee/espresso machine, hair dryer, bike charger or other 230V equipment). If you want the inverter to automatically switch to mains voltage (if present), the inverter should also be equipped with the IVT function.

The NDS Smart-Link is an automatic battery switch for your air conditioner, for example. It ensures that you can use the air conditioning while driving and while stationary. Below you can see how the switch works in practice (with or without 230V power supply).
