The rugged and lightweight Hughes 9211 satellite terminal is a budget-friendly High Data Rate (HDR) terminal, the ideal solution for media companies, governments, NGOs, mobile healthcare providers and other organizations looking for the best performance, highest quality service at the lowest cost. Featuring a hardened, compact and slim design, the 9211 is the world's smallest and lightest BGAN antenna with HDR functionality. Users can connect at streaming broadband speeds over 650 kbps and with support for features such as built-in Wi-Fi access for multiple users.
An externally powered antenna is available to support long RF cables for both temporary and permanent installations at fixed locations. Users even have the option of connecting an additional vehicle tracking antenna to allow communication directly through the Hughes 9211 terminal.
The Hughes 9211 allows users to send and receive IP traffic over Ethernet and/or 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and voice or fax over a standard telephone connection. All of this is IP-based and provides Class 1 background IP or configurable, dedicated Quality of Service (QoS) levels.
Inmarsat's BGAN HDR service network offers new and higher streaming speeds. The Hughes 9211 supports the highest available streaming speeds (650 kbps and above) for transmitting video and other critical data from the field. Asymmetric streaming speeds are also supported, allowing users to better tailor service to their individual preferences to control and minimize costs.
